  • Assembly time dedicated to the theme of acceptance and multi-cultural society.
  • Key issues discussed also in assembly including war and conflict around the world.
  • EAL students are fully integrated into lessons with additional intervention to be provided from Jan by MFL.
  • GRIT curriculum incorporates extensive work on multicultural Britain and the world around us. This includes a unit on Poland.
  • Year Council continue to develop projects linked to the community.
  • Students are encouraged by the tutor team responsible for themselves, confident and competent both academically and socially. They are taught to be able to distinguish between right and wrong and able to articulate their own attitudes and values.
  • SLD/PSHE programme looks at key issues relating to citizenship including a visit to ‘Lifewise’ in the summer term.
  • Close links with the local Police and CPSO through assembly time and small group work.
  • Raise awareness at the earliest opportunity of Post 16/ University opportunities through Nottingham Trent University outreach team.
  • HOY liaison with our EAL TA to ensure smooth transition of new EAL students.
