North East Derbyshire School Alliance
School Direct Teacher Training offer 2013-14
North East Derbyshire School Alliance is offering school-based teacher training with the expectation of a job offer at one of the North East Derbyshire Alliance Schools on successful completion of the course.
You may be entitled to a bursary of up to £20,000 to pay for the training – depending on subject specialism and your degree class
Course fees will be £9000 and include Level Seven (Masters) completed during the training year and the first year of teaching - so you will have the best possible start in your career.
Although only 4 schools have formally requested School Direct students, the NE Derbyshire Alliance consists of all the secondary and primary schools in the locality. You can be assured of opportunities to work in different settings as well as being in a prime position to access any job offers within the area. This is an opportunity to train alongside serving outstanding teachers in one of our 4 schools. Training with NE Derbyshire Alliance can therefore be tailored to your needs with experience in a variety of settings from working with small schools to very large; schools serving deprived catchments or children with special needs and schools with large academic sixth forms sending students to top universities. All the schools are committed to playing a significant role in training up their own future teachers as part of this collaborative network. We work in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University who are at the forefront of innovations in education and training.
Training commences in September 2013 with possible teaching posts to commence September 2014. Competition for places is expected to be high so early applications are encouraged. If you would like to know more about the schools where the training will take place we encourage you to read their websites and ofsted reports or contact them directly. If you would like to talk to someone about the course and the scheme in general please contact Steve Holden, Head of Partnership, Sheffield Hallam University, s.holden@shu.ac.uk or 0114 2256011.
