Admissions
The Shirebrook Academy will provide 900 co-educational places for students aged 11 to 16 and plans to admit 180 new learners per year into Year Seven.
There will also be 60 places for students aged 16-19, giving the Academy an overall size of 960.
Like other Derbyshire schools, the Academy will adhere to Derbyshire County Council’s Admissions Policy, ensuring students of all abilities, backgrounds and faiths are cared for equally and welcomed.
Students attending Shirebrook School at the time of closure will have automatic rights to transfer to the Academy.

The admissions process for 2010-11 is now complete. In partnership with the Bolsover & Staveley Learning Community, concentrating on the specialisms of the Academy. We are looking to implement post 16 education from September 2011 onwards.
