Work Experience Section
Work experience is a key part of our Careers Education programme. All students spend two weeks on placement at the end of Year 10, this is a fantastic opportunity to try a career idea, or develop skills and confidence for future progression. We expect students to take some responsibility for finding placements, but lots of help is available in school.
Check out our success stories from last year….. Success stories 2018
The Pathways booklet gives all the information you need: Pathways Booklet
The blue form below should be completed and returned to Student Reception once an employer has agreed to offer the placement: Blue Form 2019
Please contact the Academy if you have any queries about work experience
At Shirebrook Academy we want to help students succeed in the employment market – by making the most of their skills and interests, and having the confidence to present themselves well in applications.
We are signed up to the D2N2 Employability framework which helps schools to develop links with businesses. More information about the strategy can be found here:
We have successfully bid to take part in a number of projects to support our employability action plan, including Careers Local and Volunteer it Yourself.
If you are an employer and would like to support us in preparing students for the world of work, please contact Tracy Horton at the Academy.
