Introduction
Shirebrook Academy is committed to raising standards of attainment and providing students with the skills needed to progress successfully into further education, employment, and adult life. Personal Development has a strong focus across the curriculum and co-curricular offer. Careers Education and Guidance provision, forms a substantial element of the Personal Development programme, complemented by RSHE and Citizenship. The programme takes a holistic approach to developing students’ knowledge and skills to successfully navigate their transition to adult life.

We are very excited to announce the details of Shirebrook Academy's Post 16 Careers Event being held on Thursday 8th October 2026 from 4–6:30pm.
This event will help you understand the options available to your child after Y11 and meet lots of local providers. LMI – Local Labour Market Information
Labour Market Information refers to data, statistics, and research about the wider economy, current job availability, and future employment trends. What it includes: wage rates, growing or shrinking industries, required skill sets, and general local employment numbers.
